23 of us from Music In Our Bones’ Ipswich groups gathered on Thursday 30th November in Christchurch mansion. It was the first of our ‘flash mob’ sings and part of the Thomas Wolsey 550 celebrations. The project aims to encourage people to feel proud of and connected with the cultural life of Ipswich. Although we didn’t ‘surprise’ many people as it was a quiet icy winter’s afternoon, it was moving to see stroke survivors, people living with dementia and their families and singers with us who live alone, all gathered together in such a beautiful space to sing ‘Lean on Me’ as one. Our thanks to a Thomas Wolsey 550 grant for making this sing possible.
